Photo Contest - Love Your Wetland

Environmental Action Centre (EAC) Sabah together with Sabah Wetlands Conservation Society is organizing a photography contest to promote the conservation of wetland in Sabah especially in the Kota Kinabalu area.

The purpose of this contest is to portrait the variety of plants, birds and other living organisms as well to raise public awareness and appreciation of wetlands and to introduce Kota Kinabalu Wetland Centre as a model wetland for the purpose of conservation, education, recreation, tourism and research.

Criteria for the contest are as follows:-

  1. Contest is open to all residents in Sabah.

  2. The focus wetland shall be in Kota Kinabalu but other places in Sabah will be considered.

  3. All entries must be the original work of the photographer.

  4. Photoshop to exaggerate color saturation is allowed but to be kept to minimum. No alteration of the original photo is allowed.

  5. Size of photo is fixed at 18" x 12" mounted with BLACK mounting board and should in COLOUR.

  6. Entry fee RM10.00 per entry of 4 prints.

  7. More than one entry is permitted but specification must be strictly followed failing which the entry will be disqualified.

  8. All photos MUST BE captions indicating location and date taken.

  9. Full name, address, contact number MUST BE written clearly in separate paper accordingly (Submission Form).

  10. Prizes:
    • First Place: RM3,000.00 + Trophy + Certificate
    • Second Place: RM1,500.00 + Trophy + Certificate
    • Third Place: RM1,000.00 + Trophy + Certificate
    • 30 Consolation Prizes: RM100.00 + Trophy + Certificate

  11. Environmental Action Centre (EAC) Sabah and Sabah Wetland Conservation Society retains the right to use all entries for the purpose of reproduction in its publication, as well as posters, calendar etc without any/further payment.

  12. All photos used will be credited to the photographer.

  13. The organizer reserved the right to reject any entries without any explanation.

  14. Entries will not be returned.

  15. Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entertained.
