The World Enviroment Day is celebrated annually on the 5th June with the objective to stimulate worldwide awareness on the importance of the environment and enhance all levels of political attention and action. Recognizing that climate change is becoming the defining issue of era, the slogan "Your Planet Needs You: UNite To Combat Climate Change" has been selected as the theme for World Enviroment Day 2009.

In conjunction with World Environment Day 2009, Environmental Action Committee Sabah (EAC) will be offering small grants ranging from RM1,000.00 to RM3,000.00 to non profit organizations which include schools, universities, colleges, clubs and associations to organise environmental activities in line with the objective and theme of World Environment Day 2009.

To quality for the grant, the environment activities must be credible and sustainable, and carried out from 5th June 2009 to 31st July 2009.
